lash and brow aftercare advice

All lash and brow treatments will require a patch test at least 48 hours prior to the appointment. This applies whether or not you have had the treatment previously elsewhere. Patch tests must be carried out at Utopia by Utopia staff and will stay valid for six months, unless there have been any changes to your medical history during this time.
*COVID-19, THE VACCINE AND BOOSTER: A new patch test will be required after contracting (and recovering from ) Covid-19 and also after having the vaccine or booster. Patch tests must be a minimum of 14 days after the vaccination and no sooner.*
We will remind you of your need for a patch test at the time of booking in and therefore you are responsible for remembering to come in for one. We will also endeavour to remind you of your patch test nearer the time, but please be aware that we are very busy and cannot always keep an eye on timings. Please note that without a valid patch test, your tinting treatment cannot go ahead.
Please also be aware that no reaction to a patch test does not guarantee a reaction will not occur during/after your treatment. It is merely a guideline.

TINTING

Before your tinting treatment:

Ensure a patch test has been carried out at Utopia at least 48 hours before

Avoid the use of fake tan around the brow area at least 2-3 days before as this can cause the tint to go green

Please remove any contact lenses prior to your appointment. For this reason we recommend glasses are worn

After your tinting appointment:

Avoid the use of fake tanning products on the face for 2-3 days where possible. If you do wish to use fake tanning product on your face, apply a barrier to the hair and small area around the brow prior to tanning to prevent discolouration of your tint

Remember your results will be darker and more defined immediately after your treatment. The tint will fade depending on the frequency of cleansing and exfoliating in the area

Brow tints can last anywhere from 2-3 weeks, with lash tints lasting around 4-6 weeks

LASH LIFTING

At least 48 hours before your appointment:

Ensure a patch test has been carried out at Dolled Up

24 hours prior to your appointment:

Do not wear waterproof mascara

If you have had a spray tan, ensure that the guide colour (bronzer) is washed off

On the day of your appointment:

Do not wear mascara

Do not have a spray tan

Avoid applying oily products on your lashes or around the eyes

Contact lenses must be removed prior to the treatment, for this reason we recommend glasses are worn

After your treatment:

Do not get your lashes wet for at least 24 hours

Avoid steam for 48 hours (remember that simple things such as opening an oven door and ironing can all cause steam to come into contact with the face)

Avoid the use of mascara for at least 24 hours, preferably for the duration of your lift to ensure if lasts as long as possible

Avoid the use of oily products on your lashes or around the eyes

Use Lash and Brow Conditioning Serum on your lashes twice daily to ensure the lashes stay in great condition (think perming and colouring your hair - you don’t want to forget conditioner!) and to keep the lashes growing neatly and avoid criss-crossing when growing out

Lash Lift will last anywhere from 6-8 weeks

It is normal for the tint to fade after around 4-6 weeks - in this instance a lash tint can still be performed without damaging the natural lashes or affecting the lift.

As the new lashes start to grow through, it is normal to go through a period of time with some new, straighter lashes and some that are still lifted. Lash and Brow Conditioning Serum can help to keep the lashes looking as neat as possible during this time.
